ACT LEARNING SYSTEMS PROGRAMS​

Program Overview

 

A.C.T. Learning Portal offers project-based technology lesson plans that can be integrated into student learning.  All lesson plans teach technology skills in a meaningful way and engage technology fluency in children of all ages. Project-based activities are aligned to common core standards and Interdisciplinary activities.  Which, target learning objectives from multiple subject areas such as language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, geography, history, visual arts, or drama.

Selection of a project can be themed computer activities that integrate into the school’s curriculum unit or a technology skill such as spreadsheets. Each computer lessons have students apply knowledge to analyze information, collaborate, solve problems, and make decisions. Program examples include:

  • HTML5 - Become a web designer. Use HTML5 and CSS lessons to construct a simple web page.

  • Restaurateur - Launch a business venture. Build technology skills with project based activities using Google Apps or Microsoft Office.

  • Internet - Build essential 21st Century skills. Internet lessons teach students to apply search strategies, access digital resources, practice Internet safety, and communicate electronically.

We offer after-school programs, that primarily focus on computer science and engineering.  We provide real life scenarios that  that can be customized to fit any curriculum unit.
